Children of the Promise Food Drive at LuLU Beans

As all of you know, there was a devastating earthquake in Haiti recently. About five years ago, Laure was on a mission trip there and worked in an orphanage called 'Children Of The Promise'. Her memories of her time there are very near and dear to her heart.

Children of the Promise was spared from the quake, but the need for help is greater than ever because there are many new orphans, and there are fewer safe places for them to go. There is no electricity, and little or no fresh water, and they are already seeing dramatic price increases in essential goods.

Lulu Bean's is collecting goods and monetary donations to send to Children of the Promise, and will send a package every Friday for as long as possible.

Attached is a list of necessary items. Cash is the best to send as there is no shipping cost. You can make donations directly to the addresses on the attachment, or you can send your donation to Lulu Bean's Coffee House, 1020 S. 1st. St., Willmar, MN 56201.

Lulu Bean's is also asking other businesses and individuals to partner with them to give. We can be contacted at the number on our web site.

Here are the things we need most:

* Baby soap
* Liquid hand soap and hand sanitizer
* Bars of soap (Ivory)
* Disposable diapers (sizes 1-3)
* Snacks for kids (cereal, crackers, granola bars in large quantity)-bulk more important that brand
* Snacks for special needs kids (pudding cups, instant oatmeal, nutri-grain bars, etc.)
* rice baby cereal
* Formula (Similac/Enfamil, Isomil/Pro-so-be, Lacto-free) * Pediasure
* Blankets
* Fitted crib sheets
* Boys 2-3 shorts and T-shirts
* Sweatpants for the cold days (12 month - 3T)
* Shoes (2-4 especially)
* Pediatric colostomy supplies: bags, clamp, adhesive
* Vaseline/bag balm
* Infant liquid vitamins
* Infant liquid iron drops
* Nystatin ointment
* Antibiotic ointment
* Cotrin (trimethoprism/sulphamethoxazole syrup for peds)
* Cephalexin liquid for peds
* Mebendazole

The biggest thing will be asking people to send the money donation with it to cover Agape. Otherwise we spend a lot on the heavy stuff like formula and soap.

You can ship your donations of supplies to our FL address. Many of the items on our needs list are heavy and will cost a lot to ship. Please also send a check to our MN address to help cover shipping at $1.50 per pound. Just earmark it for "Shipping".
